Peter R. Brown is a partner and the chair of the Trusts and Estates Department at Nutter McClennen & Fish. With over 30 years of experience, Peter represents high net worth individuals and families in estate and tax planning, and estate and trust administration.  


Outside of his law practice, his leadership includes serving as a trustee of the Brimmer and May School, a Steering Committee member of the Boston Probate and Estate Planning Forum, a board member and officer of Moonbox Productions, Inc., a board and Finance Committee member of the Associates of the Boston Public Library, and a member of the Board of Overseers of Newton Wellesley Hospital. Peter is a member of the Boston Bar Association and a former chair of its Trusts and Estates Section. He is also a former chair and officer of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Affiliate of the American Heart Association. In addition, Peter has served as chair and officer of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and currently serves as treasurer and secretary of the Lincoln and Therese Filene Foundation and as the director, treasurer and secretary of the Helen and George Ladd Charitable Foundation. 

Peter graduated with an A.B. from Harvard University, cum laude and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.  He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and has been recognized as a “Massachusetts Super Lawyer” for 2005-16 and one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2016-17.

Doug Marshall is the Managing Director of Corporate Citizenship for Deloitte.  Doug has over 20 years of professional service leadership experience, serving as a consulting partner, Global Chief Talent Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at Monitor Group before joining Deloitte in 2013.  Following the acquisition of Monitor by Deloitte in 2013, Doug led the post-merger integration and served as operations lead for the combined Monitor Deloitte strategy practice.  Doug also coordinated ongoing development of the firm’s global strategy capabilities and operations across the Deloitte network.

Doug has led Deloitte’s Corporate Citizenship activities and programs since 2015.  In this role, Doug and his team steward the firm’s resources and capabilities to catalyze meaningful societal impact and inspire Deloitte’s actions as societal leaders.

Doug was born in Trinidad, grew up in the UK and Canada, and has lived with his family for the past 20 years in the Boston area.  Doug holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

Citizen Schools

Emily McCann was named CEO of Citizen Schools in February 2016. Prior to being named CEO, Emily had served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and President during her 13-year tenure with Citizen Schools, and played an instrumental role in launching new regions, building the organization’s infrastructure and regional support structure, and overseeing growth strategy, business planning, and financial management.

Prior to joining Citizen Schools, Emily worked as an Associate in Business Planning and Development for the Walt Disney Corporation. Emily also held positions as a social enterprise fellow with the YMCA and McKinsey Consulting Group and as an Associate in J.P. Morgan’s North American Mergers & Acquisitions Department. She serves on several national non-profit boards including Teach Plus and Good Sports.

Emily graduated cum laude with a degree in English Language and Literature from Harvard University in 1994 and earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1999.

A seven-time marathoner, Emily lives in Needham, Mass. with her husband Sean, a secondary school history teacher, coach and admissions officer and their four children.

As President and Executive Director of Fiduciary Trust Charitable, Mr. Eckler has overseen the expansion of the Foundation's customized donor-advised fund offering that is focused on individuals, private foundations, and family offices. In addition, he serves as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Corporate Development at Fiduciary Trust Company where he has transformed marketing, expanded the product offering, and enabled the firm to earn numerous marketing and other awards. Before arriving at Fiduciary Trust Company, Mr. Eckler served in leadership positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, including Chief Operating Officer and Head of Marketing roles within Global Wealth Management and Global Banking Marketing. Prior to Bank of America, he was a Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments and a Senior Partner at the global strategy consulting firm Monitor Group.

Mr. Eckler has been active in education-oriented charitable causes throughout his career, serving on charitable boards, leading scout troops, and volunteering in inner city schools. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Dartmouth College and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.


Kelly J. Guarino, JD

Vice President & Trust Counsel

Fiduciary Trust Company


Ms. Guarino is a senior member Fiduciary Trust Company's legal team, providing operational, governance, administration and planning advice for clients. She also serves as the Secretary and a Senior Advisor for Fiduciary Trust Charitable, where she applies her expertise in nonprofit law to issues that arise in the management of the foundation. 

For more than a decade, Kelly was an attorney at Lourie & Cutler where she advised families and organizations on tax, trust and estate planning issues, and also counselled nonprofits on issues relating to formation, governance and operations. Her professional experiences also include WilmerHale, Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, and Peabody & Arnold. 

Active in the nonprofit community, Kelly has served as Co-Chair of several Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education conferences focused on nonprofits, including the 2018 Annual Nonprofit Law Conference, and for the past six years has been the presenter of “Private Foundations: Rules of Behavior” for the Boston Bar Association.

Kelly serves on the Board of the Carlisle Conservation Foundation and was Chairman and a Commissioner of the Carlisle Conservation Commission for nine years, and Chairman of the Carlisle Community Preservation Committee for three years.  Kelly also served for many years on the Board for the nonprofit Carlisle Kids’ House.

Kelly earned her law degree at Harvard Law School and her BA in political science at the University of Utah.
